Aylen Del Toro is currently host and correspondent for Univision Network. Del Toro delivers breaking news stories, exclusive interviews, spotlights on trends and other consumer centric stories. She is the principal correspondent and fill-in anchor of the daily digital news program Noticiero Univision - Edicion Digital. Del Toro has also anchored Noticiero Univision Fin de Semana.

   

On Despierta America, the network’s top-rated morning show, she is a regular contributor and guest host while also joining talk panel segments such as “Sin Rollo” where different opinions on thought-provoking topics and news of the day reactions are explored.

Prior to joining Univision Network in May of 2017, she hosted TV Azteca’s national newscast in Mexico City, Hechos AM, and co-hosted Que Hay de Comer, an entertainment program where Del Toro presented topics of the day in an informal and creative way. Her first television break came when she landed a job as a news reporter during the midday newscast Hechos Meridiano, in Morelos, Mexico in 2010. After just three months of reporting, she was quickly promoted to main anchor of the national newscast.

Aylen Del Toro was born in Havana, Cuba and when she was six years old, her family decided to leave the island and move to Mexico, in search of a brighter future with more opportunities. She studied communications in Cuernavaca’s International University and participated in the international studies program’s semester abroad in Madrid at the Universidad Camilo Jose Cela.  Throughout her studies, Del Toro focused on hosting television shows for the universities, both in Mexico and in Spain.

Her experience in Mexico and abroad, prepared her for the biggest step in her career: coming to the United States to pursue a television career. Throughout her journalism career, she has provided significant news coverages of such historical events as Pope Benedict’s visit to Mexico, Mexico’s presidential election with Enrique Pena Nieto, weddings and royals funerals , various hurricanes and other natural disasters. She received the Global Quality Gold Award for her work in Mexico as best anchor in 2015.

Professionally, Del Toro has a passion for storytelling that is inspirational or consumer driven, with the potential to motivate her audience. She is passionate about exercise, healthy eating and on her days off loves a good book and a local beach. She currently resides in Miami, Florida with her husband Sebastian, and her two lovely dogs, Ache and Tyson.
