GONZALEZ
Raul Gonzalez was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and is the long running co-host of the highest rated morning show on Spanish language television “Despierta America” on the Univision Network. He began his career in entertainment at the age of five.
At 18, he created the children’s television program “Chamokrópolis”. This popular program eventually moved to another network and under his guidance, was renamed “Supercrópolis” becoming an even bigger hit than the original among children. Throughout his career in Venezuela, Gonzalez recorded 3 albums and received many of the most prestigious awards in the country.
After moving to the United States, he was cast as the Host of the Latin American tour of “La Gran Aventura” for the cable network Discovery Kids Latin America / Iberia. Immediately following, he hosted the English language show “Game Lab” for Nickelodeon.
In theatre, he has participated in over 30 plays. He received critical acclaim when he wrote, produced and starred in the musical “Visa Para Un Sueño” seen by over 23,000 people. He also produced and starred in his one man show titled “Gordura De Mi Vida,” a comedy based on his real-life battle of the bulge. He is also the Executive Producer of the internationally acclaimed “Los Monologos de la Vagina” [“The Vagina Monologues.”] Spanish version of the famous property first premiered in Miami.
In 2013, Raul achieved a major career highlight by becoming the first Co-host in history to pull double duty by simultaneously co-hosting “Despierta America” and “Good Morning America” on ABC live.
